About Pierce County Septic Services

This site exists to make Pierce County's septic paperwork legible, and to connect homeowners with the certified companies who do the work.

What we do

We organize the requirements that apply to on-site sewage systems in Pierce County: what the county asks for when a property sells, how often state rule requires an inspection, where the records are held, and what the permit process involves. Then we connect homeowners with an independent company certified by the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department to do the work.

What we do not do

We do not perform septic work of any kind. We do not inspect, pump, design, install or repair systems, and we are not a licensed contractor. Every job described on this site is performed by an independent certified company, not by us.

We are also not affiliated with the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department, Pierce County, or the Washington State Department of Health. Where this site states a requirement it names the rule or the office it came from, so you can verify it at the source rather than taking our word for it.

How we are paid

We may receive a fee from a contractor for connecting them with a homeowner. That costs you nothing and it does not change what we publish. If a page here tells you to confirm something with the Health Department, that is because you should, not because we are hedging.

How we handle facts

Requirements on this site carry their source. Inspection frequencies and the February 2027 transfer rule come from WAC 246-272A-0270, which we read directly. Pierce County's Report of System Status process is described from the Health Department's own published process material and Pierce County Code, and we say so on the page rather than presenting it as our own authority. Fees, forms and review times change, and the Health Department is always the authority over anything here.

Who operates it

Pierce County Septic Services is a service of Compass Camper LLC (Oregon), operating as Compass Lead Group. It is a matching service, not a septic contractor, and is not a licensed contractor. We connect Pierce County homeowners with independent on-site sewage professionals certified by the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department, Pierce County, or the Washington State Department of Health.
